A hardneck garlic of this name was first listed by Paul Aylor of Fillmore, New York in the 1985 SSE Yearbook; this strain was given to his mother by a friend who in turn got it from a Turkish immegrant; the 2006 SSE Yearbook still lists Turkish as a hardneck variety; however, the SSE accession is an artichoke which came from Filaree Farms.
