Barrande Fellowship Programme

The French Institute in Prague and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports support international educational exchange programmes and scientific cooperation between French and Czech scientific teams. They provide a scholarship for PhD students in the Cotutelle programme as well as a scholarship for short-term research stays.

From the Library Director: “We try to make students feel like they are in their own living room here”.

For more than thirteen years, Taťána Škarková has been running the Faculty of Science’s Central Library on Kotlářské Street. Before that, she also worked for thirteen years at the Municipal Library in Moravsky Krumlov, where she originally comes from. After thirteen years she is definitely not thinking of another change, despite commuting over two hours a day to work. Working in the library still keeps her fulfilled and amused, and she happy to have a great team of colleagues to work with.

Hans Kluge, Director of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, sent a notification of the appointment of the RECETOX Centre of the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University as the fourth WHO Collaborating Centre in the Czech Republic.

From January to March, the gallery on the dean's office staircase at Kotlářská presents an exhibition presenting the research of the CEPLANT center and images of the SEM Mira3 microscope.

Dean's Award 2023

The Dean's Award is announced annually in order to support the creative activities of outstanding students of bachelor's, master's and doctoral study programs. Proposals for the award is submitted by the directors of individual institutes.

European Charlemagne Youth Prize

The prize is awarded annually by the European Parliament together with the Charlemagne International Prize Foundation in Aachen for projects promoting understanding at European and international level, helping to develop a common sense of European identity and integration, setting an example for young people living in Europe and providing practical examples of Europeans living together as one community.
