Training - Gender Biases Against Women
As part of Gender Equality Plan MU (GEP), a training session focused on the issue of gender stereotypes.
On October 9, 2020, we hosted the PhD Day event at the Faculty of Science MU again, in the online form this time.
This year, our agenda was slightly different from the last year, as our PhD Day extended the MU Joint PhD Day by our Faculty-specific matters. Presentations and videos prepared by MU offered a general orientation to all doctoral students across the MU. We covered topics such as current mobility requirements, funding opportunities and students´ experience, highlights from libraries at both Bohunice and Kotlarska campuses, recent actions taken in enhancing the quality of doctoral studies, and of course, FAQs.
Due to the current situation, we met online together with almost 100 participants. We were happy to see many of our “fresh” doctoral students of our Faculty in their 1st or 2nd year. A pleasant surprise was the number of Master and also Bachelor students from different scientific fields who attended the session. We hope to see them soon onboard!
We hope that our aim to introduce or provide advice for successful doctoral studies at our Faculty was fulfilled. Support for the early-stage researchers is one of the most important aspects of the new people strategy of the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University - HR Award/HRS4R.

In May 2024, we launched an analytical phase of the project "Introducing a Flexible Working Culture and a Support System for Parents on Maternity and Parental Leave into the Working Environment of the MU Faculty of Science" as part of the Employment Plus Operational Programme (OPZ+). This phase includes a gender equality audit, featuring structured individual and group interviews with our employees, led by an auditor.
