Training - Gender Biases Against Women
As part of Gender Equality Plan MU (GEP), a training session focused on the issue of gender stereotypes.
During April and May 2022, as part of the implementation of the faculty action plan of the HR Award project, we have organised three English workshops for Early Stage Researchers of the Faculty of Science of MU.
On April 28, 2022, a workshop for PhD students entitled "My Future Career Path after PhD" was held at Kotlářská premises. The aim of this workshop was to help PhD students clarify their preferences and priorities in the field of work and career.
On 29 April 2022, a workshop for Postdoctoral Fellows entitled "Academic Career Planning - What to Keep in Mind" was held in person at the Campus. Its goal was to acquaint Early Stage Researchers with the formal and informal requirements associated with starting their academic careers and to clarify what to focus on and what to pay attention to at each stage of their career.
Both trainings were led by lecturers from the Czech Academy of Sciences Mgr. Kateřina Cidlinská, Ph.D. & Mgr. Kateřina Machovcová, Ph.D.
On 11 May 2022, an online workshop "Cross-Cultural Differences in Communication and Professional Cooperation" was held for the same group. The lecturer, PaedDr. Eva Gáboríková, PhD, ACC, M.A., prepared an interactive program with the aim of introducing the participants to the values that are key for communication and cooperation across cultures and to learn how to prevent misunderstandings arising from differences between cultures.
All these workshops were funded from the project of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Human Resources Development and International Orientation of Research at MU.
We thank the participants for their interest and active approach and we believe that they have found the workshops enriching and inspiring.
For May and June 2022, we are preparing further workshops primarily for supervisors: Gender Dimension in the Management, which will be held in person at the Campus and Labour Law seminar, which will also be held in person once at Kotlářská Areal and once at the Campus.

As part of Gender Equality Plan MU (GEP), a training session focused on the issue of gender stereotypes.
In May 2024, we launched an analytical phase of the project "Introducing a Flexible Working Culture and a Support System for Parents on Maternity and Parental Leave into the Working Environment of the MU Faculty of Science" as part of the Employment Plus Operational Programme (OPZ+). This phase includes a gender equality audit, featuring structured individual and group interviews with our employees, led by an auditor.
