This project’s goal is to determine how mass economic emigration reshapes youth imaginaries in the peripheral semirural region in transitional Serbia. Pomoravlje region has a long tradition of economic emigration and a large diaspora in the West. My goal is to explore how this reality reshapes images of „here” and “there”, notions of the world, and Serbian youth’s place in it. Youth’s imaginaries will be determined with ethnological research, focus groups, and semi-structured interviews.
