Accelerate the implementation of ELIXIR infrastructure that supports the management, analysis and re-use of data across life science. Users will have easy access to validated workflows and tools to deposit and analyse data. We will lay a foundation supports open data management by connecting national and global data archives and resources and develop metrics and strategies for sustainable management of resources. The strategy for implementing this infrastructure is distributed: the ELIXIR Nodes deliver services, manage resources and partner with users in institutional and national research projects. ELIXIR’s distributed organisation - with Nodes that strongly link to national research priorities - ensures alignment with the needs of the life-science community across Europe. Thus the overall aim of ELIXIR is to integrate the distributed national bioinformatics infrastructures, centres of excellence and the EMBL European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) into a coordinated research infrastructure. Through this project ELIXIR will build the necessary capacity throughout Europe to drive the strategy and meet the need of our users.
