The project is focused on detection and analyses of changes of the territorial and functional structure of the service sector within the model area of the east part of the Czech Republic (Moravia). Model area is selected as a representative for the vhole area of the country. The research will focus on the population mobility (commuting for services) analysis within the model area, quantitative and qualitative analyses of the changes of the sample set of service facilities within the selected regions of Moravia and determination of the influence of the large-area shopping centers in the selected centers of civic amenities on the formation of their background. The research will be based on the questionnaire survey and field research methods that will, due to the missing statistical data, particularize the findings on the present state of the civic amenities in the Czech Republic. Especially, it will focus on the territorial aspects of the service sector transformation in the Czech Republic. As the project is a consistent follow-up of the previous researches and examinations from the end of the 1980s, the project results can be applied not only in geographical subdisciplines, but also in economy or sociology sciences.
