On Saturday, 15 March 2025, the annual Faculty of Science Ball took place at Semilasso in Brno. Around 350 guests met on the dance floor, and thanks to the rich programme prepared by the Society of Natural Scientists and the Faculty of Science of MU there was certainly no shortage of entertainment.
The whole evening was hosted by the great moderator Nikola Katolická, who welcomed the guests at 7:30 and invited the Dean of the Faculty Tomáš Kašparovský onto the stage for the opening ceremony. The opening dance performance was provided by the Starlet Dance School Brno. Later, the dance floor was taken over by the band Golden Delicious, whose energetic music accompanied the ball until late at night. Each musical interlude was better than the last and the night ended with the guests singing and calling for an encore.
The evening included a popular dance competition, with dance pairs made up of students, staff and other guests. In the end, the student couple won - congratulations! Tomáš Nováček put on quite a show with his impressive Light Show, during which he demonstrated the art of "poikaření", a form of juggling, in all its glory. The midnight surprise this time was the workout show provided by the group Mad Move, who amazed the audience with their acrobatic stunts and received well-deserved applause.
For lovers of traditional music, the PONAVA dulcimer band entertained guests in the restaurant. And, of course, there was also a tombola full of great prizes!
