On Thursday, the Rector of Masaryk University (MU) Martin Bareš opened the new academic year 2022/2023 at the Augustinian Abbey in Brno. During the ceremony, he presented the Rector's Awards to outstanding teachers. The Masaryk University Rector's Award for outstanding teachers in the field of natural sciences and medicine was awarded to Jan Šmarda, Head of the Department of Experimental Biology. Congratulations!
Jan Šmarda works at the Section of Genetics and Molecular Biology. He focuses on cell and molecular biology and genetics. His lectures are most appreciated by students for the professionalism, structure and unconventional style of presenting information, which takes the form of engaging stories that encourage the audience to think about individual topics.
