SPECIAL METHODOLOGICAL TRAINING

• Measurement of the rate of respiration, transpiration and net photosynthesis using gasometric and fluorometric methods.

• Measurement of respiration rate and engagement of different respiratory pathways in roots using oxygen sensors (Clark type) and specific inhibitors.

• Measurement of nutrient uptake rate by depletion method coupled with analysis of nutrient solution using capillary isotachophoresis.

• Estimation of a nitrogen availability in soil and the rate of nitrogen mineralization.

• Basic course in use of stable isotopes.

• HPLC separations using reversed phase techniques, namely separations of amino acids, amines and leaf pigments. 

• Hydraulic methods for estimation of hydraulic resistance in plant and xylem integration
