I. New Successful Projects

Doc. Jan Cempírek and Dr. Vojtěch Wertich (Dep. Of Geological Science) will contribute to the development of efficient novel technology for the extraction of lithium as they received funding of almost EUR 400 000 for next 3 years from the Li4Life project (Novel domestic battery grade lithium carbonate value chain from green life).

Dr. Peter Fabian (Dept. of Experimental Biology) as the first researcher from SciF received the ERC Starting grant in the amount of EUR 1.5 million and also the prestigious DIOSCURI grant in the same amount. His ERC StG project MERLIN aims to study new type of cells that play a key role in maintaining the homeostasis and metabolism of skeletal stem cells, thereby ensuring healthy bone regeneration. The new DIOSCURI Centre: Stem Cell Biology and Metabolic Diseases will benefit of collaboration with Prof. Schulte-Merker (University of Münster) and cutting-edge tools of single cell sequencing and bioinformatics to further explore the roles of stem cell maintenance and metabolism in human health.

Dr. Kateřina Zachovalová (Dep. Of Geological Science) will contribute with educational tools and activities to consortium RISBRIEFCASE project supported by EIT Raw Materials program.
