Dear Members and CzeSEV friends

It is with great pleasure that we introduce the very first newsletter from the Czech Society for Extracellular Vesicles (CzeSEV). As we embark on this significant journey, our primary objective is to provide you with updates regarding our organizational initiatives, upcoming events, and promising prospects in the field of extracellular vesicles (EVs).

Message from the Board Members: Unveiling the Purpose of Our Society

We extend warm greetings as the Board Members and share the fundamental reasons behind the establishment of our society. We aim to be the voice of Czech EV researchers and companies, bringing them together and facilitating our participation in international events and consortia.

Showcasing Your Research Groups: A Collaborative Platform

A heartfelt thank you to those who have generously shared information regarding your research groups and areas of interest in the field of extracellular vesicles. The details of your groups are now accessible on the website https://www.sci.muni.cz/czesev . If you wish to include visual representations such as photographs of your groups and institutions to enhance your profile, please direct them to czesev@sci.muni.cz. For those who have yet to provide information about your groups, there is still an opportunity to do so. We welcome your input at czesev@sci.muni.cz.

Exciting Developments: ASEV and CzeSEV Collaborative Event in September 2024

We are thrilled to announce agreement for the collaborative event between the ASEV (Austrian Society for EVs) and CzeSEV scheduled for September 16-18, 2024 in Vienna. This event will also serve as a test for our society for the ISEV2025 global event in Vienna. To fortify our position, we are transitioning from an informal association to a formally registered one, strengthening our negotiation capabilities.

We warmly welcome feedback from your research groups and also extend an invitation to companies interested in potential sponsorship opportunities to express their interest in participating in this groundbreaking event. Your input is vital in shaping an inclusive and enriching experience for all attendees.

To share your feedback or express interest in participation, please contact us at czesev@sci.muni.cz.

Echoes from the First MOVE Symposium in Malaga

We share the resounding success of the inaugural MOVE Symposium and we are thankful to GEIVEX for great organisation. The event was a remarkable gathering of minds, fostering collaboration and dialogue within our community. We are delighted to announce that we are now listed among national societies participating in MOVE (MObility for Vesicles research in Europe), marking a significant milestone in our international recognition. Currently, we welcome your feedback on whether you would like to participate in the next MOVE call scheduled for spring 2024. We are open to expressions of interest from members who wish to serve as a host lab or as an applicant. Host labs already registered with the project can be found here.

Following the positive response, we are excited to announce that negotiations are underway for the second MOVE symposium, slated to take place in Belgrade in autumn 2024. Because of the proposed timing, which is closely following the annual ASEV-CzeSEV meeting, we would love to hear from our members about their interest and willingness to contribute to this upcoming event. Your insights and presence will undoubtedly enrich the experience. Stay tuned for further details, and let's continue to MOVE forward together!

Interesting talk "Of Ovarian Cancer and Extracellular Vesicles"

Vendula Hlaváčková Pospíchalová will give a lecture on EVs and provide overview of her research topics. How can the examination of ascitic cells and extracellular vesicles contribute to deciphering the fundamental molecular mechanisms of disease progression? In what ways can ascites be utilized as a novel reservoir for identifying diagnostic, screening, and prognostic biomarkers in ovarian cancer, as well as for developing clinically relevant models of the disease?

Date: 24.11. 2023, 13:00-14:00
